Meet Information:
There is no meet for this week.
Weekly Notes:
We will not have official practice from Thursday-Sunday and will resume on Monday for the last week of the AAU season. It is important to remember that this is a break from practice, not training and it is advised to meet up with other runners to get your training in. Don't be passive, take your fitness into your own hands. I've been asked to give some training ideas so here it is: Thursday- 45 minutes over the hills at Lafreniere, Friday- 20 minute tempo run with full warmup, Saturday- 45 minutes over the hills at Lafreniere.
Note to Curtis Athletes: I've had some issues in the past few weeks with missing practice for work. I thought it went without saying, but I will now make it a rule: you need to only work jobs that do not require you to work at night. You have all day to work, please use that time. It is unacceptable to miss practice for this reason. Please be respectful that the coaches have arranged their work schedules to be with you in the evenings, you should as well.
All shirts are now on sale for $10. First come first served. Sizes are limited.
Curtis athletes should make sure they have their physicals finished, school registration completed, and their money paid to coach Preston for team camp before we head to Baton Rouge. $30 for girls, $40 for boys. This is for 7th graders and above, all Curtis runners are required to attend.
Reminder that all runners in 11th and 12th grades need to sign up for the September 13th ACT date. Last day to sign up before late registration is August 8th.
The schedule now includes fall cross country tentative dates. All are subject to change but you can get an idea of when and where we plan on racing.
Lapathon is coming up in September so remember it is time to start looking for sponsors. Fundraising is a major part of how we are able to attend as many meets as we do, so do your part and then some!

Recent Events:
Our final races of the summer were held last week at the NOTC 2 Miler and the Relay Race we had at Jefferson on Saturday. Devyn Keith won the 2 mile at City Park with a 9:35, pacing several local runners to seasonal bests. Our girls team averaged 14:01 for 2 miles and we were without a couple of our runners. The Relays were a good way to get used to racing in the mornings since we are one month away from cross country. If you didn't feel great racing, it is time to get back in the swing of things and remember how to take care of yourself for early morning efforts!
Weather Outlook:
Harahan 10-Day Forecast. If it is raining around workout time, I will be updating changes in practice schedule on twitter which will automatically load onto the right side of this page. You can check for updates there. Please do not call or text several hours before practice even begins. The weather around here changes swiftly and there is no way to tell what it will look like around practice time. Between 30-40 minutes before practice I will tweet if practice is changing locations, but I will not tweet if it remains the same. If practice location changes, 99% of the time it will change to John Curtis High School which is located on Jefferson Highway in River Ridge.
