Weekly Notes:

Coach Chaz will assign everyone this week to bring some food or drinks for the BBQ. Reminder you only need to bring about $5 worth.

All shirts are now on sale for $10.  First come first served.  Sizes are limited.

Curtis athletes should make sure they have their physicals finished, school registration completed, and their money paid to coach Preston for team camp before we head to Baton Rouge.  $30 for girls, $40 for boys.  This is for 7th graders and above, all Curtis runners are required to attend.

Reminder that all runners in 11th and 12th grades need to sign up for the September 13th ACT date.  Last day to sign up before late registration is August 8th.

Lapathon is coming up in September so remember it is time to start looking for sponsors.  Fundraising is a major part of how we are able to attend as many meets as we do, so do your part and then some!

Recent Events:

I hope you enjoyed your extended weekend!

At the AAU Junior Olympics we saw several great performances by our two throwers at the event.  Zechariah Blake took first in the 13B Shotput and Javelin as well as a third in the Discus.  This was Zechariah's best meet performance ever!  Also Kaleb Jordan in his first year of track managed a great 13th place in the 15-16B Shotput and 32nd place in the Discus earlier in the week.  Congrats to your performances boys!

Weather Outlook:

Harahan 10-Day Forecast.  If it is raining around workout time, I will be updating changes in practice schedule on twitter which will automatically load onto the right side of this page.  You can check for updates there.  Please do not call or text several hours before practice even begins.  The weather around here changes swiftly and there is no way to tell what it will look like around practice time.  Between 30-40 minutes before practice I will tweet if practice is changing locations, but I will not tweet if it remains the same.  If practice location changes, 99% of the time it will change to John Curtis High School which is located on Jefferson Highway in River Ridge.
